Smart phones indeed.

Technology is really awesome, it progresses at a break neck speed, faster than most of us can catch up with. By the time we manage to assimilate a new piece of gadget into our lives, something newer, shinier, faster, equipped with better processing speed would have already been innovated, hot on the market. That was the case with me, all these appearances of smartphones. Catching me off guard while I toyed with jokingly ancient models of candy bar phones while serving the nation. Smartphone; defined loosely as a mobile phone offering more advanced computing abilities and connectivity than your usual mobile phone. It can be regarded as a personal hand held computer integrated with a mobile phone, running on an operating system. Applications spring up by the hundreds daily available for usage, aimed at different purposes and different target groups. Some aim to entertain, to kill time. Others aim to simplify otherwise hassle procedures, like GPS systems, apps that allow mobile banking. O...

Heart wrenching

A heart wrenching affair. Ever since I've been clearing whatever extra offs and leaves left over, I've been going to swim on alternate days. And I always pass by the old folks corner, on purpose, on my way back because I know that there are always cats there, lazing, sleeping, people watching. And so I usually dedicate almost a good 20minutes scratching their ears, reaching out to their bellies, stroking it, running my fingers under their chin. And they love it, and I love it. It gives me an unusually high level of contentment to belly rub them. Most cats just simply lie on their backs, giving me full access to their body underneath, closing their eyes, enjoying every single moment on my fingers coursing through their velvety soft bellies. And of course I enjoyed them too, feeling the fur in between my fingers, the warmth of their stomach somehow finding its way into my heart. And so yes, this established a mutual relationship between me and the cats. Much like the sea anemone ...

Teachings of Confucius

By three methods we may learn wisdom: first, by reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third, by experience, which is the most bitter.” - Confucius Aye, wise sayings worth pondering from wise man.

Rain Rain Rain

The skies' been suffering from major leaks much like those experienced in the oil spill at the Gulf of Mexico. Sure, the rain can be cooling, an open invitation to snuggle up on the bed, an excuse not to wake up and soak in the sleepy atmosphere. But still, I welcome endless blue skies anytime. Cant swim, cant run, can go out to any places without shelter, cant cloud spot, clearly I cant do anything that I do on a frequent basis when I'm bored. Its been making me feel kind of bummed out, and run almost the whole stretch of road from the bus stop outside my camp to the guard house, in home clothes. And people who have a vague idea of my camp should know that the length of it is about half a kilometre. So yes, this rain makes me feel emo-ish bummed out. Have you ever encountered someone whom you have known for many many years and then to suddenly realise that you dont really understand him/her at all after spending so much time together? Kind of other-worldly feel. You see this v...

Healthy Lifestyle!

More and more I have started to embrace the healthy lifestyle! Yay! Went jogging today, was a little bit adventurous and decided to venture out a bit into the neighbourhood now that these park connectors thingy have sprung up and I thought it might be time to do a little checking out. And to my surprise, there's a really nice route from my house all the way to je's house, to zheng hua park! AKA, I will pass by xf's place, probably near to xl's place. oh my. didnt realise that at all. The path leads from cck sports complex to behind the bungalows where a huge drain is. On the other side of the drain is abandoned fields with trees growing, lallang etc. So this path leads on and on to behind PJC to ten mile junction to opposite xf's hse bus stop, shocked to see her house slowly materialize before my eyes, right into zheng hua park, which sadly, I didnt get to run in because it was too late and I was ravenous. So I U-turned back at the traffic light before the park. Its...

Open wounds.

I have SEVEN, yes, SEVEN open wounds on various parts of my body secreting various fluids from blood to platelets. Lets see: 3 on left foot, 2 due to roller blading abrasions, 1 due to my shoes, which bled. 1 on right foot also due to shoes, bled. 2 on right palm, excessive monkey bars. Skin just ripped off. Hurts like crap when I bathe. 1 in mouth, bleeding on and off. I could use some TLC. Haha. On the side note, 30 more days to ORD LO! And 31 days to Aussie trip. Mega excited. So many firsts, first time travelling with friends, unsupervised by adults, with me probably being the oldest in the group. First time booking air tickets. First time paying for my overseas trip. First time transiting. (sort of) First time visiting a friend. First time feeling very spontaneous, not planned, not pedantic. First time SKY DIVE. (hopefully) Thinking about it makes me feel like a kid who has ate too much sugar. Post edit: I just found out that the mother (or father) of all retards is going to the s...

Of stupidity and foolishness

Of stupidity and foolishness. Well, camp this week has been a wild whirlwind of activities, from coating people in numerous packets of medicated foot powder, dousing them in chilly water to squirting them relentlessly with detergent, gossip has been steadily moving up the list of most frequently done activities. Who doesn't like to listen to gossips? Especially if its the truth. I have no idea why people like to do stupid/foolish things. Alas, common sense, is, unfortunately, not so common after all. The facts are in your face, bro, and so many people have already come up to you telling you to stop this foolish act, but yet you refuse to listen. I rest my case. Sometimes, determination in your own cause is a good thing, perseverance etc are all good qualities that a person, eager to succeed should have. But persist in the wrong value or thinking makes you like a dumb ass, a laughing stock, while the person manipulating you milks you for your worth while others beside lament for you...
