Wrong choice?

Listening to Marianna Leporace on a rainy Saturday is pure enjoyment. *sigh* Went to ol' faithful NH today for Open House with Council people. It was still the same, everything was still kept in the same place. Gym mats are still kept below the staircase, the grand piano is still as dirty, Chinese values glaring from the parade square. Familiar faces that evoke warm feelings from the canteen vendors. I know every nook and cranny at the back of my hand, I have watched it rise from flat grounds to towering heights. I performed at the opening ceremony. Precious bittersweet memories formed and kept there, as if waiting for me to return, surge back the moment I stepped back. Well, up till today I still ponder if I had a wrong choice back then choosing to take up the leadership position in my CCA rather than Council. How might things turn out to be? I always always always think about this. I cannot really control myself not to think about it, I just cannot help it. Sometimes I regret, I ...

Maximum Irritability

Maximum Irritability or, MI in short for phrases people use carelessly like tissue papers. 1) MI: Mooncake Festival. I would really like to see someone celebrating it. Holding lighted mooncakes, dangling precariously from a hair's breadth of copper wire in parks, prancing with utmost joy. 2) MI: When someone says with a lot of sincerity together with bulging puppy eyes "I honestly swear...". How does anyone "honestly swear" ? Aren't you supposed to be honest when you swear? 3) MI: When some random lady/man approaches you with their megawatt smile and coos "Sorry to bother you/waste your time, but can you...". Well, if you're that sorry and do not actually intent to waste my time, why approach me in the first place at all?!

GAH

loser internet has deleted my painstaking typed-in-chinese random short story! I say "%!&$^796b%$V@%!^8970!$%&^@ !" to you, foul, cursed internet. Now its done it. No more feeling to type it again. No more strokes of inspiration. :(

Same Love

The week in camp was lively, as lively as watching a cactus grow. So buddy A and I decided to randomly call other camp mates who where having off, enjoying peace and serenity at home. We struck upon the idea of posing as their "boyfriend" if any other family member picked up the phone. Obviously, we laughed till our stomachs cramped. But on the journey home with Buddy A, I suddenly asked him a question "What if your son/daughter was a homosexual? What would you do?" He was visibly stunned, with trees blurring in the background, he replied genuinely "I have no idea..." And this prompted me to blog about homosexuals. My stand is that I empathize with them. Firstly, I see absolutely no reason to shun them or publicly display my hatred for them. Hating someone is too arduous. They are still people, just like there's black skinned, yellow skinned and so on. Homosexuals are just variants of the same species. They are people with the same mental and physical ...

Whimisical Thoughts

Nights Out for today! Whee, a break from the monotonous pace felt in camp. I suspect the cookhouse people decided to revolt, hence the canceling of dinner and nights out. Its not really my style, typing away at night, creative juices are congested. I cannot really churn out things. Like stuck. Brain cell drought maybe?

Commitments

Commitment means to duty or pledge to something or someone, and can refer to: Personal commitment , interaction dominated by obligations. These obligations may be mutual, or self-imposed, or explicitly stated, or may not. Distinction is often made between commitment as a member of an organization (such as a sporting team, a religion, or as an employee), and a personal commitment, which is often a pledge or promise to ones' self for personal growth. Is it really that hard for someone to keep dutifully to commitments? Something that you have made promise long ago, fiery, passionate and determined. But now, look at you, giving yourself excuses to squirm out of commitments. Are commitments really that intimidating? It feels like a rubber band being stretched out too thin, reducing it to a fine red strand, almost white from the pulling at both ends, ready to snap from all the tension. Most times, whether it lasts forever (cliche choice of word) depends largely on commitment, whether you...

Confusing.

I recently read this collection of manga about some boy magician trying to prevent the exposure of the magic community. But the motive for the exposure of the magic community is so that the rest of the world can benefit from the infinite possibilities that magic can bring about. So the boy magician is throughly confused and swayed about the decision to stop this exposure. So who is correct? And this led me to ponder about about the real world. Pardon me, but right now, given my level of maturity and understanding, I feel that inequality is actually beneficial. It sounds fallacious doesn't it? Its not if you see the way I do. In fact, the world operates on inequality. Inequality generates wants. A simple example is the Ipod. If you see someone with an Ipod and you dont, and you are influenced by aggressive advertising schemes, inequality is created. The likelihood of you buying an Ipod, assuming that you are financially capable, is quite high. See? Inequality drives consumer wants, ...
