Do you think all man are born evil but because there are consequences of doing evil things, i.e. being jailed, fined, ostrasized, looked down upon etc so we don't do them?
Or do you think we are good by nature but because the benefits of doing evil things outweigh the benefits of being good so we stray and become bad?

One question posed by a friend on her blog. (or I supposed it is)
I think this is really a Nature vs Nurture question that essentially is like a circle, it loops upon itself over and over again, coming back to the same point and eventually rebutting the arguments set up earlier.
But anyhow, here are my views.
I think that all man are not born inherently evil or good. I think that man are born intelligent, with the ability to think and weigh in factors that may lead to an outcome that can be described as "good" or "evil".
Man, are by majority "good". I think it is because we (the "good" majority) have weighed and consider the relevant issues at hand and have taken a least objectionable pathway. Take for example, when faced with a dilemma of finding a significant amount of money stashed away in a nondescript bag, should the individual take it for personal gain, or attempt to find the owner, or report to the relevant authorities?
Well, for most people, the L.O.P would be the last option, to report to the relevant authorities.
But, that being said, not everyone's L.O.P is the same, or works in the same way as mine or yours does. L.O.P may be influenced by the surrounding environment, the plight the person is in. Also, another factor would be the way the person was brought up to think. Lastly, another point, not as important but also affecting the judgement would be predisposed illnesses or disease that may impair an individual's point of view.
In short, nobody can be born "evil" or "good". It is environment, how the person views things and to a certain extent, genetic predisposition. That being said, it cannot be guaranteed that a "good" person stays "good" throughout the course of his natural life, and vice versa.
So, really, there's no answer to the question posed if we were to look at the whole population collectively, just assumptions made based on the present situation.

So, its my turn to pose a question: Is life harder for a girl or a boy now?
You could pose the answers on your own blog!
